Dear friend,
In 2008, you were one of more than 1300 Angelenoes who used the grassroots tools of the SaveLAPL.org website to tell Mayor Villaraigosa and City Council's Budget & Finance Committee how much you value the Los Angeles Public Library system. And thanks to your powerful and moving emails, the SaveLAPL campaign was successful in reversing a proposed $1 per book inter-library loan fee, branch closures, staff firings and a freeze on book purchases. Librarians and library patrons breathed easier... for a while.
As you probably know, Los Angeles is in trouble again, and our libraries are back on the chopping block. So SaveLAPL is asking you to make a return visit to the website where, with just one click, you can send an email message to the Mayor and every member of City Council in support of the free public library system.
It's easy to send a message. We've even written a sample email for you, which you can sign, or add any message you like to make it more personal. Please visit the link below and tell our elected officials not to cut the library budget. Then pass it on!

P.S. We're sorry about any weird emails you got earlier today. Getting this site back online was a little tricky, but she's humming like a champ now.
